Our Promise to Keep Your Child Safe
The Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (RMHC) family of hospitals has a long-standing commitment to quality and safe care for children. We want you to be aware of the procedures we have in place so you can have confidence in your child’s safety while he or she is in our care.
We fully support the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals initiative “Speak Up” that helps parents ask questions and clarify information about their child’s care.
The Joint Commission is the largest healthcare accrediting body in the United States that promotes quality and safety. The RMHC policies not only support, but exceed this and other organizations’ recommendations for patient safety.
At RMHC, safe patient care is our only priority. RMHC is the only family of hospitals that requires each of its pediatric departments to meet strict standards — including staff training and certifications, and quality care criteria that are audited annually.
That’s how we assure our patients, their families and physicians that wherever they see the name “Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children,” they can be sure the care is consistently top-notch.
We welcome questions and suggestions to improve our quality of care and encourage you to use the information in this booklet from the Joint Commission’s “Speak Up™” campaign to manage your child’s health in any setting where they receive medical care.

The goal of Speak Up is to help patients become more informed and involved in their healthcare. You can make a difference in your child’s care by asking the right questions and being actively involved. See www.jointcommission.org for more information.
