For pregnant women, we offer services through our Center for Maternal-Fetal Care. Our team, led by our internationally recognized Medical Director, Richard Porreco, MD, offers the region's leading center in fetal surgery and fetal care.  Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at P/SL offers highly specialized fetal care for known birth defects and cancer that requires treatment before or immediately after birth.

The team's experienced perinatologists (maternal-fetal physicians) offer many valuable services for high-risk mothers, including:

  • Targeted ultrasound evaluation, including Doppler velocity studies, fetal echocardiography and 4-D imaging
  • Reproductive genetic counseling
  • Comprehensive fetal evaluations, including special procedures that may be recommended or necessary, such as:
    • early genetic amniocentesis
    • chorionic villus sampling/placental biopsy
    • intrauterine fetal transfusion
    • fetal blood sampling
